What is Circle K? What kind of community problems does the organization focus on?
Â
Circle K is an international community service organization. To cater to our members’ interests, we do a variety of service projects that include environmental projects such as cleaning and planting in the Berkeley Marina, playing scrabble with seniors at Chaparral House, teaching kids at LeConte Elementary science projects, serving at a soup kitchen at different locations that include St. Marks, 1st Presbyterian, St. Vincent de Paul, and more. Last year, our members participated in over 10,000 hours of service back to our community. Furthermore, we also fundraise throughout the year for 3 organizations that are near and dear to our hearts. This includes the Pediatric Trauma Program, UNICEF: The Eliminate Project, and Not For Sale. Just these past 2 semesters, we have already raised over $9,000 for these amazing 3 organizations.

Why did you decide to join Circle K?
Â
Having been in Key Club for 4 years in high school, I decided to check out the collegiate version. A motto that gets tossed around within our organization is that we come for the service, and stay for the friends. This motto still holds true, for the amazing people in this club inspired me to become more involved and serve as an officer for the past 2 years.Â
Â
How can others get involved?
Â
It’s really easy to get involved! Since there are no minimum hours or time commitments, you can come out to anything you enjoy, whether that is dogs, seniors, little kids, sports, or soup kitchens! For more information, go to ucbcki.org and check out all our events on our calendar!
