Andrew Cohen ’12

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Brandeis chapter.

This week I had the pleasure of sitting down with this week’s Campus Cutie, Andrew Cohen, also know as Andy Cohen, from Bravo TV.  Check out his blog here: http://www.bravotv.com/watch-what-happens-live/blogs/andys-blog Just kidding, wrong Andrew Cohen! This Andrew does not go by Andy, but he still had some interesting things to say.  This California boy likes pina coladas and getting caught in the rain. Oops – I think that’s a Jimmy Buffet song. To find out the real scoop on our Campus Cutie, read on:

AGS: What is your full name?
AC: Andrew Laurence Cohen

AGS: When is your birthday?
AC: March 12, 1990

AGS: Where are you from?
AC: Beverly Hills, but I grew up in New Jersey

AGS: What does being the Campus Cutie mean to you?
AC: It’s a great honor – I felt good. I talked to my parents about it. It means I’m doing something right because I don’t really try.  It feels good to be recognized.

AGS: How is your life going to be different now that you have been elected Campus Cutie?
AS: I don’t really act any differently. I’m humble about it, but its fun to have it on my side in case I’m teasing my sister.

Now onto the real important questions…

AGS: If you could only eat one food for the rest of your life what would it be?
AC: Sushi. [Score! That’s my favorite food too]
AGS: Sidenote, but did I mention he bakes?!

AGS: How would you describe your personal style?
AC: My whole family is involved in fashion. My mom is starting up a fashion line right now with Mariopol.  My sister is an agent for Ford models and I’ve always been pretty up to date on fashion. If I had to describe it – I don’t know. Not like most Brandeis guys that for sure.

AGS: East Coast/West Coast?
AC: I see myself more West Coast in terms of my personality. I’m very laid back and try to make fun of everything. That’s just how I react.  Sometimes I’m impatient – that’s way more of a New Yorker quality.  I like to go out a lot but people in LA tend to stay in more instead of clubbing.  On the East Coast people go out any night of the week.

AGS: What are you wearing?
AC: I’m wearing Gucci sneakers, Seven For All Mankind jeans, a Louis Vuitton belt, Supreme t-shirt and leather jacket.
AGS: And a backwards baseball hat. * note, I’ve been corrected , it’s a “supreme” hat. Ooohh. [how very Clueless – which happens to be my favorite movie].

AGS: What is your favorite store?
AC: I’m just going to go with [pause] – Gucci

AGS: What music are you listening to right now?
AC: I love hip-hop. But I also like house music, electrica, and dub step. Right now I’d say I’m listening to a lot of Rick Ross and Drake.

AGS: What is your favorite Brandeis event?
AC: I guess Springfest.  I take that back – Pachanga.

AGS: What is your favorite cereal?
AC: Cinnamon Toast Crunch [this is also the favorite cereal of my 90 year old Bubby]

AGS: What do you look for in a Brandesian cutie? (girl)
AS: Oh gosh – I like on the taller side, thin, stylish, nice, truthful, smart.

AGS: If you could pick a color to go with your mood right now what would it be?
AS: Blue – wait isn’t that sad? Green – definitely GREEN! [I was instructed to write green in caps]

AGS: If you were an animal what would you be?
AS: I’d be a dolphin – they seem like they’re always having a good time.

AGS: One thing to do before I die is…
AC: Make some unfortunate group of peoples lives better. Give back.

AGS: One thing to do before I graduate is….
AC: Tell off a couple teachers [oooooh – feisty!]

AGS: Before I forget, What is your major?  –
AC: American Studies major, Legal Studies Minor

AGS:  What is your favorite movie?
AC: Shawshank Redemption [its not Clueless]

AGS: My favorite thing about Brandeis is…
AC: Its reputation. [Academically? Socially? Party? I’ll let you readers decide!]

AGS: What was the best date you ever went on?
AC: The best date I ever went on was at Mr. Chows in Beverley Hills. We got drunk and took a limousine an hour away to a go cart place and then went go carting and then we went to the beach……the rest is not for Her Campus [how romantic].

Let’s Free associate:
Yankees – Favorite Team
Ketchup – cheeseburgers
Chocolate – ex- girlfriend
Jail – anxiety
Sour patch kids – middle school
Beyonce – Blue Ivy
Hermione – weirdos.  [because he secretly wishes he was a wizard and went to Hogwarts. I know how these things work]

AGS: What is your life motto?
AC: Over tip

AGS: Where do you see yourself in ten years?
AC: Running a high-end fashion company and traveling with the love of my life.

AGS: What do you like on your Einstein’s bagel?
AC: I like a typical bagel – any combination of cream cheese and lox on an everything bagel.

AGS: If you were in a stack of pancakes where would you be?
AC: The bottom that way I may not get eaten.

AGS: Do you have any parting words for our readers?
AC: I really appreciate the nomination – I am going to continue trying to look my best for all the ladies out there. And I am single. And I’ll probably accept your Facebook request. Follow me on Twitter – @_AndrewCohen_.

That’s right ladies – Follow him on Twitter, see him around campus and wait on him at a restaurant – he tips well! Keep those nominations comin’ because without you, there is no Brandeis Cutie of the Week.

Andrea is a sociology major with minors in journalism and women's and gender studies. She is currently finishing her senior year at Brandeis University. She was born and reared in Los Angeles, CA, which does mean that she is a die-hard Laker fan… Sorry Bostonians. When Andrea is not routing on her favorite basketball team, she dedicates her time to her many passions. They include reading and writing about fashion, traveling, exploring new restaurants, spending time with friends, watching reality television (she has a weak spot for Bravo), shopping, and working out.
