Get Your Sweat On: February’s Workout Playlist

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Northeastern chapter.

Now that the month of February is in full swing, many of us are having trouble sticking to those tough New Year’s resolutions. That promise you made yourself to avoid Stetson East cookies has turned into limiting yourself to two at a time, and getting to the gym is probably harder than ever. We all need some extra motivation to get our (larger, thanks to winter break) butts over to Marino, and if you’re like me, those stale, overplayed workout songs from last semester just aren’t doing it. A great way to get in the zone while you’re sweating it out on the arctrainer or treadmill is listening to hour-long mashup tracks that’ll help pass the time without allowing you to count how many songs-worth of sit ups you’ve done. Here are a few of my favorites that’ll give you an extra boost of motivation for your next workout!

Kastra – White Girl Wasted Mix

Nothing gets you in the zone for a workout better than kicking off a track with the Quad City DJs’ Space Jam theme song.

The Soundmen – The Best Hour of Your Party
Mixes of Katy Perry, Pitbull and more will help pass time at the gym for even the least motivated of exercisers.

Girl Talk – Feed the Animals
This quick-tempo’d 53 minute mix of old songs and new will keep you going for your whole session at Marino.

The White Panda – Pandamonium (Continuous Mix)
Made up of 40 seamless mash tracks, Pandamonium will keep you on your toes for the whole 50-plus minutes.

5 & A Dime – The Best Hour of Your Pool Party
Even if you’re hitting the gym and not partying poolside, 5 & A Dime’s pool party mix of Taio Cruz, Deadmau5, Robyn and more keeps a fast and steady beat that’ll match your workout pace perfectly.

If you’re looking for some shorter tracks to get you through a mini-workout, here’s a list of some of my favorites!
