Zoe’s Style Blog: Mad for Mod

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at OSU chapter.

Dresses do not only have to be just for special occasions.  Fun yet modest dresses, inspired by the 1960s, are the perfect way to make a casual day fashionable!  This particular decade is creating a huge wave in modern day fashion; everyone is going mad for mod!  These 60s-era pieces add a feminine, vintage vibe to any outfit.

When looking for mod pieces to enhance your closet, make sure to keep an eye out for clean lines, fun patterns and bright pops of color—and definitely do not forget the short hemlines!  These kinds of dresses and tops can have an array of cute details, including bows, patterns and Peter Pan collars!  Pair these dresses with some knee-high socks and the perfect ballet flat to complete your look.  To add a more modern spin on these outfits, stray away from the bold colors and try pairing more neutral colors like black, white and nude with a very bold pop of color.  It is time to embrace those easy-going patterns like houndstooth checks, box plaids and florals.  Take inspiration from the swinging 60s and channel your inner Twiggy!
