As the seasons change, so should our beauty products. A good tip before cracking into any of your seasonal beauty products is to inspect the item’s quality. Each beauty product has a different lifespan, so it’s always good to double check before using the product. Below are our top beauty products from head to toe to help get you through the winter season!
Hair
- Deep Conditioner– Don’t neglect your hair this winter! The cold weather already does enough damage to your hair, so to keep your hair looking its best, keep it full of nutrients by using a deep conditioner. It gives your hair a healthy shine and keeps in soft and luscious.
Cheeks
- Blush – Give yourself a rosy glow this winter by adding a hint of blush to your cheeks. Sephora, MAC and other makeup hubs are full of great brands with every shade of blush imaginable. Check with the makeup representative to find the right blush for your skin tone.
- Bronzer – Adding a pinch of bronzer to your cheeks gives you a subtle beachy glow, just make sure to not overload it to keep a natural shine for winter. Brands like Urban Decay and Lancome have great bronzers in different shades to meet everyone’s needs.
Lips
- Lip Balm – There is nothing worse than having chapped lips during winter. Keep your lips kiss friendly and pain free by carrying around lip balm. Buy multiple sticks and throw them in your coat pockets and purses so you’ll always have one. Some of our favorite brands include:
- Carmex is a great winter lip balm that works like a charm and only costs a few bucks for a three pack!
- C.O. Bigelow is available at stores like Bath and Body works and is perfect because it fills your lips with nutrients. The lemon lip balm is full of vitamin C and shea butter. Another favorite is the menthe lip balm that protects your lips and freshens your breath with the minty scent.Â
- Soft Lips has SPF included in their lip balms which gives your lips a healthy glow. Just because it is winter doesn’t mean your lips don’t still need sunscreen. Softlips is known for their scents and even make limited edition seasonal flavors. For winter they have holiday scents like winter mint, sugar plum berry and sugar cookie.
- Burt’s Bees lip shimmer is a great because it uses natural ingredients to keep your lips moisturized and gives your lips a hint of color. With multiple shades to choose from, your lips won’t have to suffer just for color!
Skin
- Lotion – Keep your skin moisturized this winter by using lotions with shea butter or cocoa butter. These lotions will prevent chapping and keep your skin silky smooth all winter. You don’t have to pay a lot of money for quality lotion because brands like Olay and Jergens keep your skin healthy for a fraction of the cost – which on a college budget is always nice!Â
- Self-Tanner– Tired of pale skin this winter? Self-tanner is the perfect way to give your skin the color you’ve been wanting but lets you avoid tanning beds. There are many brands and options that provide a healthy glow including lotions, mousses and sprays. Jergens, Neutrogena and L’Oreal are a few of the brands offering great sun-less options!
Nails
- Polish– Painting your nails is a fun way to show off your fashionista style. During the winter season, pick a bold color for your fingers since your toes will be covered. Once it warms up, wear a lighter shade on your fingers and pick the wow factor color for your toes. It’s a great way to showcase the colors! Some hot winter colors include:
- OPI “Black Cherry Chutney”
- OPI “Suzi Loves Cowboys”
- Essie “Bobbing for Baubles”
- Essie “Smokin’ Hot”
- Butter London “British Green Racing”
- Butter London “All Hail the Queen”
- China Glaze “Moody Blue”
- China Glaze “Something Sweet”
- Cuticle Cream – Lotion doesn’t always keep your cuticles moisturized during winter. Cuticle cream is the perfect solution, plus it nourishes weak nails and cures cracked fingertips. Burt’s Bees Lemon Butter Cuticle Cream and Revlon’s Cuticle Moisture Creams are great products to try this winter!
Hands and Feet
- Lotion– Dry hands and feet are never fun and the cold, winter air always has a way of ruining your soft skin. Companies like Aveeno and Neutrogena make lotions especially for your dry feet and hands, including our favorites:
- Aveeno Intense Relief Hand Cream
- C.O. Bigelow Chapped Hands Remedy
- Bath and Body Works True Blue Spa Cracked Heel Treatment
- Neutrogena Norwegian Formula Foot Cream
