However, when Her Campus UPenn was invited to the opening of the new B2 Salon — an extension of Bernard’s Salon and Spa based in Cherry Hill, New Jersey — at 777 South Broad Street, and I decided to try my luck one last time.
By the time I arrived at B2 Tuesday night, it was already packed full of people, so I could tell that the day thus far had been a success. I wasn’t sure what to expect, but the salon was gorgeously decorated, and I felt completely at ease as soon as I walked in. The girls who greeted me at the front desk were bubbly and friendly, and even though I arrived 10 minutes early for my appointment, I was taken in right away. I got a great eyebrow wax that is usually priced reasonably at $15 (free for me!). Plus, they did my make up for the night.
What I liked about B2 was that it was a smaller salon, so I got a more intimate experience. Most importantly, it had prices that are exactly in my budget. Anthony Rossano, the proprietor of Bernard’s salon, as well as his wife and daughter, were all present at the opening to speak with me. What they told me blew me away: on Mondays, students get 50 percent off all services with student ID cards. The B2 salon offers everything from cuts and colors to keratin treatments, and waxing to manicures. When I asked Anthony’s daughter, Audrina Rossano, what her favorite treatment from the spa was, she replied, “The blow dry stylings!” That is definitely something I will be back to try.
From someone who is always nervous about trying out new things, I definitely recommend checking out the branches of B2. It’s a quick cab or SEPTA ride away, and very much worth the trip.
