Where my loyalty lies, Jacob or Edward?

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at App State chapter.

I had read the books more than once, watched trailers for months, seen the movies at midnight premieres, and this time was no different. Thursday night around 11:00 pm, my friends and I found our seats in the local movie theater for the premiere of the fourth Twilight movie, Breaking Dawn.

Since I had cracked the binding of Twilight a few years back, I’ve been wrapped up in the love story of the book. The writing style isn’t my favorite, but I’ve been there for every step of Bella’s journey. I even made shirts in high school when one of the movies came out. But I wasn’t just loving the romance, I was loving Edward. The rock hard body (literally), the perfectly tossled hair, the piercing golden eyes, and the timeless values had me falling for Edward just as fast as Bella, vampire or not.

As an abnormally pale person myself, I felt like Edward and I had something in common. Not to mention the fact that Robert Pattinson is incredibly sexy and his character in Remember Me had me liking him even more. Give me a grungy guy in a white v-neck and I’m hooked.

Jacob on the other hand, has always looked somewhat like a bear in my opinion. I guess he should, considering he plays a werewolf in the films, but I’ve never really thought he was that cute. When girls confess that they’re “team Jacob,” I totally disagree. Despite his washboard abs, I found Jacob moody and insanely jealous.

But Breaking Dawn was another story. When Jacob appeared on the big screen this past Thursday, I couldn’t deny that he looked mighty fine. I think it’s because he’s gotten older? But he looked h-o-t-t, hott. A button down and scruff? Yes please.

I’m not saying that my loyalty has changed, cause I’d let Edward bite me in a second. All I’m saying is, maybe Bella’s decision is a little harder than I thought. Two attractive guys fighting over you? Oh, to be Ms. Swann.

Or should I say, Mrs. Cullen?
