The approach of Thanksgiving Break means the beginning of the holiday season. Think big, comfy sweaters, pretty skirts and dresses, scarves, heels, and a whole lot of sparkle. It’s quite possibly the best time of the year, and I cannot help but think that the fashion around this time of year is the best, too. There’s so much to look forward to, and the greatest thing is that we only have this one week to get through before break! With only one full week of classes left before we all take off for home, here’s what you can expect from Mother Nature in the next five days to plan your outfits accordingly:Â
Monday, November 14: Chance of showers with a high of 62 degrees. Although the week begins with a warm day, you can still channel fall’s vibe with a light cardigan or sweater. These types of sweaters are perfect for days like these, so pair one with skinny jeans and boots or moccasins for a classic autumn look that never fails to impress. Keep the rain boots and jacket handy in case of showers.
Tuesday, November 15: Chance of showers with a high of 60 degrees. Today is similar to yesterday’s weather, so wearing something lighter in terms of fabric is the way to go today. Dressing up a cotton tee, like pairing it with belted jeans, flats, and bold jewelry, is certainly weather-appropriate and always looks great. Again, keep the rain gear out in case of showers throughout the day.
Wednesday, November 16: Rain and a high of 55 degrees. To me, rainy days mean fashion “freebie” days, so however you want to dress today is up to you. Leggings and a big sweatshirt? Jeans and a big, comfy sweater? Whatever suits your mood goes!Â
Thursday, November 17: Partly cloudy and a high of 42 degrees. Hello again, November weather! Even though the week started off mild, today’s weather is more characteristic of November’s typical chillier days. Embrace the cold by donning leather boots, darker skinny jeans, and a long cardigan or cable-knit sweater for a casual (and warm) outfit that always works.Â
Friday, November 18: Sunny with a high of 46 degrees. It’s still chilly like yesterday, so try pairing jeans or cords with flats, a scarf, a basic long-sleeved tee, and a puffer vest to top it all off. You’ll look stylish yet weather-appropriate– two very important factors in a day’s outfit.
Hopefully the week ahead flies by for you all, and then there will only be a few more days until break begins. Remember that there is a light at the end of the tunnel, so try to enjoy the week ahead even as the anticipation of break sets in. Before you know it you’ll be able to eat as much food as you want, spend time with friends and loved ones, and most importantly shop like there’s no tomorrow. Although digging into a plump turkey does sound tempting, I hope the thrill of shopping never ceases to excite you either!Â
Fashionably yours,
Jen LassenÂ
