Yes, Monon is better than Christmas morning. This is the one event that brings our entire campus together, including the creepy alums, who come back and convince themselves they still go here for the weekend, with their questionable actions. Whether you are 15 or 50, you are bound to have a good time. So, blast a little Wiz Khalifa “Black and Yellow” and put your game face on, it’s time to get your MonON.

How To Make the Most of Monon:
Â
1.   Make it your job to be the Monon alarm clock. Although the parking lot doesn’t open until 9 A.M., getting up while it is still dark out is highly encouraged. This is one party that it is not cool to be fashionably late to. Hit up the McDonald’s breakfast drive-thru, you’re gonna need something to absorb the rest of your day’s consumption.Â
Â
2.   Join in on the number one tailgate of the year. This is no ordinary day, and the tailgates are far from ordinary as well. You may have thought your sixteenth birthday was a big deal, but there is something that parents get even more excited about and that is Monon. One parent even reports that this year she will be bringing “…cupcakes, beer, wine, vodka, mixers, water, Italian sausage (cooked), peppers, prime rib sandwiches with sauce on side, pizza, chips and dip-PATRON!”
Â
3.   Do support the football team. Although it is unlikely you have ever sat through an entire four quarters of a DePauw football game, this is probably not the time you will do it either. However, you should show your support for your team. After all, the tickets did cost $15.Â
Â
4.   Do dress for success. Sadly, though not all of us are able to sport the actual DePauw Tiger mascot costume, we can still show off our Tiger pride. You should be covered head to toe in black and gold at all times during this weekend. Showering is optional.Â
Â
5. Get all of your work done very early. The festivities begin now! And lets be honest, who wants to go sit in moldly Roy on Sunday when you’re still feeling the side effects of Saturday’s madness? Remember, “DePauw Never Quits,” so why should you?
