Zoe’s Style Blog: Vintage Inspired Lace

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at OSU chapter.

Designers all over are falling for the subtle, romantic lacy layers. Luckily for us, it is an easy to pull off this chic look! This sheer floral patterned fabric brings a little bit of everything to an outfit: sexiness, femininity and elegance. Lace looks exceptionally gorgeous paired with other fabrics as well as on its own.

Make sure not to go too overboard and turn your vintage-inspired outfit into an unflattering lacy mess reminiscent of the Victorian era. To avoid any such resemblance, be sure to pair your lace with a more casual piece to help balance out the look. For a flirty take on the trend, choose a short-and-sweet dress that’s above the knee; another way to wear these fun pieces is by trying a long skirt or covered up neckline which helps keep the outfit sophisticated yet playful. A lace skirt paired with a chic top creates a vintage look that’s been revolutionized.

For a more dramatic look, try a maxi-length, semi-sheer number. Just remember to pair your lace dress with a slip to it doesn’t reveal too much! Want a way to dress up without looking like you’re trying too hard? Lace is your answer. To add a bit of sophisticated sexiness to a casual jean, try a soft ivory (lace, of course) blouse.

This fall, make sure to incorporate this sexy, elegant and girly trend into some of your outfits. Even if it is only adding a few lacy accessories, you can never go wrong with this impeccable fabric!
