There’s nothing like the approach of Halloween to get us in the fall spirit. Also, there’s nothing more exciting than finding the perfect costume and absolutely rocking it. Let’s face it–when you look good, you feel good, and confidence is the key accessory every girl needs. Let these words to live by not only inspire you for Halloween weekend, but continue to inspire you throughout the rest of October for your wardrobe. The soft browns, warm reds and oranges, and cool yellows are ever-present on each tree, helping to both lift your spirits and inspire the clothes you’re wearing. So take a cue from Mother Nature and incorporate those fall hues into your wardrobe; these colors work well on anyone! To help plan your outfits for the end of October, here’s what the forecast has in store for the week ahead:
Monday, October 24: Partly cloudy and a chance of PM showers, high of 65 degrees. Today may be a good day to get in a last, true wear of jean capris or a fall skirt with boots since it will be a bit on the warmer side. Pair either bottom with a cute tank, cardigan, and some fun jewelry to turn a typical Monday into a total fashion statement.
Tuesday, October 25: Mostly sunny, high of 62 degrees. A seemingly perfect fall weather day, so pair a comfy sweater with a cute scarf, jeans, and flats or low boots for a look that’s both casual and comfortable, and certainly weather appropriate.
Wednesday, October 26: Cloudy and a chance of showers, high of 64 degrees. Since it’s the middle of the week and you deserve a break, today may be a good day for leggings paired with a drapey, long-sleeved tee or sweater and either boots or flats to complete the look. Finish with simple jewelry and make-up for a clean and comfortable look on one of the drearier days this week. And don’t forget the Hunters and rain coat for later in the day if rain showers occur!
Thursday, October 27: Rain and a high of 48 degrees. Brr! We all know the weather in Lewisburg certainly changes constantly, but this day will be drastically colder than the beginning of the week! Make sure to bundle up with a fall coat, heavier sweater (think cable knit), jeans, boots, and gloves if need be. Also, make good use of the umbrella and rain gear if there are showers throughout the day! Although it may be bulkier, this look will keep you warm and you’ll still look cute enough to take on the colder weather.
Friday, October 28: Rain and a high of 46. Since today is a lot similar than yesterday weather-wise, I suggest wearing a flannel, puffer vest, jeans, boots, and maybe even a cardigan for added warmth to protect against the cold. The flannel and vest will give off an autumnal vibe, yet you’ll still be warm enough to be walking to classes and back to the dorm around campus!
Although this week seems to have a decrease in how nice the weather is each day, there’s still the weekend to look forward to with Halloween where you can just be yourself, go crazy, and have a great time with friends. So put on that costume, eat a few mini candy bars, have fun with your make-up, and just enjoy being someone else for the weekend. Sometimes this is necessary, but remember it’s always important to be you and to do it fabulously.
Fashionably yours,
Jen Lassen
