Shake Shack
Craving a great burger? Shake Shack is popular for a reason. Not only are they known for great burgers and fries, but decadent desserts as well: custards, shakes, and more.

Strand Bookstore
With the slogan “18 Miles of Books”, you are sure to find that old book that you have been searching for. Strand Bookstore is the east coast equivalent to the west coast’s Powell’s Books (Portland, Oregon). Strand is home to a number of new, rare, used, and out-of-print books. In fact, the third level is dedicated to a rare collection. I purchased two out-of-print, Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis books that I was unable to find anywhere else. Even if you do not have a specific book in mind, pop in- you might discover a new interest (or just a great book bag).
My Recommendation: any product on the first floor by the cashier and a visit to the rare collection on the third level

Urban Outfitters
Urban Outfitters has always been one of my favorite places to shop. Their unique merchandise is a bit pricey; however, they always have items on sale. There are numerous locations throughout the city so it will not be difficult to come across one.
My Recommendation: the jewelry section
