With cooler weather finally reaching Trinity during this mid-semester period, more students are finding themselves indoors and focusing on studies. Ever considered curling up with your books and sipping on a tasty drink in The Underground?
The Underground is Trinity’s hidden gem: a coffeehouse nestled in the basement of Mather Hall, offering delicious drinks and pastries as well as a relaxed cozy environment. Using an array of comfortable tables and sofa sections, students feel free to meet with friends and professors, study, or simply indulge in one of the many delicious drinks that the Underground has to offer. In chilly weather, many students prefer hot coffee or warm espresso drinks such as the caramel macchiato and chai charger. Chai tea beverages have become very popular, and the classic chai and milk blend (as well as any drink) can be accented by one of the Underground’s 15 flavor shots. These flavors include Vanilla, Pumpkin Spice, and even Coconut. Try the Underground Hot Chocolate, a unique blend of milk and chocolate syrup with a White Chocolate flavor shot. You also can’t forget to try the Sweet Dreams, a popular cinnamon-espresso blend that an Underground student employee created several years ago.
If all of these drinks do not sound delicious enough, the Underground also offers yogurt or ice cream-based smoothies, iced coffee, and Italian sodas. If you enjoy snacks with your drinks, the Underground has recently added cupcakes, cookies, and other treats to its menu. The Underground accepts cash, Bantam Bucks, and debit. Overall, the Underground is a neat place to discover here at Trinity, and I promise that you’ll enjoy any one of the many custom drinks that you can create in this coveted coffeehouse.
