Ah, the fall. Nothing seems better than the breakout of a new pair of leather boots, the addition of a bright pashmina scarf to outfits, or the feeling of wrapping up in a cozy sweater each morning. The weather allows for the perfect combination of style and comfort, calling for neutral-tone color schemes that look good on everyone. Everything from the pumpkin spice lattes at Starbucks, warm apple crisps in the Caf, and the new nail polish color options (think plums, deep greens, and grays) makes fall as fabulous as the changing colors of Bucknell’s trees. In the week ahead, here’s what you can expect from Mother Nature so you can plan the reveal of your autumn wardrobe accordingly:
Monday, September 26-Mostly cloudy and a chance of rain with a high of 80. Since we all know how unpredictable the rain is here in Lewisburg, it may be smart to keep the Hunter boots handy. Maybe start off the day by wearing a light cardigan/sweater or a cute t-shirt and jeans with flip-flops since it will most likely be warm throughout the day when it’s not raining. However, if the rain comes, so does the time to throw on the Northface raincoat and break out the wellies.
Tuesday, September 27-Scattered T-Storms and a high of 75. A little cooler than yesterday, so you could get away with wearing a long-sleeved drapey tee, jeans, and a pair of flats to complete the look. Watch out for the rain, and keep those boots ready again so you don’t ruin your shoes!
Wednesday, September 28-Slight chance of rain and a high of 71. Okay, okay, the rain threats are finally coming to an end (hallelujah). Since there’s only a 30% chance of rain today yet it still looks cloudy, you may want to consider wearing your new leather boots (yay!) with a pair of skinny jeans or leggings, comfy sweater, and a scarf as a nice autumn touch.
Thursday, September 29-Partly cloudy with a high of 72. Similar weather as yesterday, but why not change things up outfit-wise? Spruce up another cloudy day with a bright silk shirt tucked into skinny jeans with a belt, then add a cute pair of flats and some bright accessories to show the weather who’s boss!
Friday, September 30-Only a slight chance of showers with a high of 66. Cozy fall weather and it’s the weekend? FINALLY!!! It’s Friday and Wiz Khalifa is performing in Sojka tonight-what a perfect end to a dreary (however fashionable) week! Don a casual dress, boots, and cardi/jean jacket by day, then skinny jeans, flats, and an adorable tank by night (it’ll get really hot in the concert; style your hair accordingly!)
Although the weather may be gloomy for part of the week, that doesn’t mean that your outfits need to be. These simple tips will help you look and feel your best so you can end September without a faux-pas in sight!
