It’s time to meet our amazing Her Campus Tufts staff! These dedicated ladies and gents deserve a round of applause for all their hard work and dedication; we are really lucky to have them. Give them a shout-out if you see them around!
Stephanie Haven
I’m a freshman most likely majoring in Sociology with a minor in Communication and Media Studies. I enjoy making terrible puns about my Tufts of hair and Jumbo supply of stockpiled food. I’m also a coffee addict with an entirely nerdy passion for journalism a la Rory Gilmore.
William Vaughan
I’m a senior majoring in Engineering Psychology with a minor in Entrepreneurial Leadership. I love things that are well designed and in my spare time I enjoy taking photographs, playing saxophone, and writing the occasional piece of verse. It’s not all sunshine coming from my handsome smile, however, as I’ve previously been described as a “wanker” by an angry surprisingly non-British woman and one day I hope to reach the top by being referred to as “one nasty piece of work.” Follow me on twitter @willvaughan.
Alexandria Chu
I’m a junior, majoring in English and minoring in Mass Communications & Media. I was born in Dayton, raised in Los Angeles, and now, I enjoy being educated in Boston. I love anything adorable, adventures, and aspirations. On campus, I’m the co-president of Strong Women, Strong Girls Mentoring and in my spare time, I like to read, write, and most of all, sing karaoke. I am also completely convinced of the plausibility of one day being Mrs. Zac Efron, so please don’t try to convince me otherwise with your less irrational logic.
Nadezhda Kazakova
I’m a sophomore from Sofia, Bulgaria. Although I haven’t declared a major yet I’m pretty sure I want to study International Relations and Communications and Media Studies at Tufts. Aside from writing for Her Campus I’m involved in planning events with the International Club, starting social ventures with the Compass Fellows, or teaching ESL in Somerville. I’m a true romantic at heart, and I have a thing for dark-haired guys with blue eyes; I’m still waiting for such a prince on a white horse to knock on my dorm room door.
Justin McCallum
I’m a junior at Tufts University majoring in Peace and Justice with minors in Studio Art and Latin American Studies. I’m not quite sure where any of those certificates will take me, but I’m interested in pursuing a career of photography and human rights advocacy. I’m a staff photographer and asst. photo editor for The Tufts Daily, my on campus publication, and I also do fine art, wedding and fashion work having on the side interned with Nadra Photography and Jen Dean Photography in Southern Maine. Although I’m new to photojournalism, I’ve always had a passion for the arts and social justice since growing up in Portland, ME and now living Boston, MA. When I’m not running around between assignments, I enjoy watching movies, attending protests, and being generally loud and obscene. My greatest vice is Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups, and I would probably sell a kidney for a lifetime supply.
Danielle Carbonneau
I’m a senior double majoring in English and Spanish with a minor in Communications and Media Studies. I would love to get into advertising after graduation. I’m a reluctant pessimist with a love for dark comedies, cinnamon buns, horror stories, dancing, and middle names. I believe in karma and the healing power of chocolate-chip pancakes.
Ann Chunharakchote (Abroad)
I’m a junior double-majoring in International Relations and Japanese and minoring in Economics. I was born and raised in Thailand. (And yes, I miss Thai food dearly.) I am a Cancer, and the middle child of three. ?I am one of those people seem rather quite and reserved on initial encounters. I can also be really shy. I have a fear of saying hi to people first, because I’m afraid that they won’t remember who I am and I would freak them out. So, if we’ve met and we cross paths and I didn’t say hi, I probably know who you are but I’m just being my stupid shy self. Other than that, I’ve been told that I am quirky, crazy, nice, funny, mean, balanced, fun and the list goes on. ?I am a music junkie and I love going to shows and writing reviews on them. My other hobbies or interest include watching old/foreign/weird movies, drinking insane amounts of coffee, talking about things that matter in life, talking about things that do not matter in life, and of course creative writing.

For someone that is 4’11”, I like to think that I have enough personality to make up for my tiny stature. Voted “Most Likely to Brighten Your Day” in high school, I’ve been told that I have a killer smile and I enjoy the simple things in life. My ideal day involves sipping wine on the beach with good friends and a good book. As senior double-majoring in Spanish and Political Science, I loved the easy-going and warm attitude I encountered when I studied abroad in Spain. In my spare time, I like to shop for clothes I don’t need and eat out with friends. I am obsessed with Harry Potter and have five piercings.
Rebecca Rago
I’m a freshman at Tufts this year majoring in Chemistry. I’m unnaturally attached to having my coffee in the morning and believe that any dessert can be made better with nutella and any meal better with hot sauce. I’m also interested in Habitat for Humanity and community service in general. In my spare time, I dabble in graphic design, playing guitar, and photography. Music is definitely a big part of my life and I love the local Boston scene as well as going to concerts around the area.
Afia Boakye
I’m a senior majoring in Economics with minors in Communications and Media Studies and Entrepreneurial Leadership (highly recommend both!) My likes include dance parties, green apple lollipops, music, learning and trying new things and people watching (yeah, I’m watching you… lol.) I’ve been told I’m a bit intimidating but I swear I’m nice, so say what’s up (it’ll honestly brighten my day)!!

Allison Jeffery
I’m Allison Jeffery and I’m a freshman here at Tufts. I’m from New Jersey (from a town that is not at all like the Jersey Shore) and am probably going to be a double major in IR and Spanish. My dream is to travel the world, and I would love to go to Spain and Ghana. I’ve never written for a newspaper or magazine before, but am so excited to start writing for HerCampus! My column will be about dorm life, so look out for it coming soon!
