I’m sure I’ll get a lot of flak for this, but I need to ask this: What the heck is up with the lineup this year at Spark in the Park? Last year we primarily got hip hop music and some unknown rock bands, same thing this year except the bands may just be even lesser known than last year’s.
Lupe Fiasco was cool, but come on UIC, why not invest a little bit more into an even better act? I think it’s a waste paying for a couple of unknown bands and one semi decent act. I know that Fiasco has a lot fans and people enjoyed him, but I say next year we invest into one HUGE act and make Spark in the Park 10x better.
Spark in the Park, nevertheless, is a great idea and it allows UIC to be more unified. Despite my unpopular opinion, I know that we students appreciate the gift of live music during the fall semester.
