Fashion Unites for Japan Tees: Doing Good and Looking Good

Every collegietteTM knows that summer is no time to put style on the backburner. But between jobs, internships, community service, and just kicking back with friends, sometimes there’s just no time to put together that stunner outfit! After all, when it comes to choosing between looking good and helping others, there’s not much competition. But thanks to Karl Lagerfield, Lady Gaga, Alber Elbaz, and Victoria Beckham, as well as the Japan editions of Vogue and GQ, you won’t have to choose between looking good and doing good!

Together with some of our favorite fashion-forward celebs, including Charlize Theron, Orlando Bloom (swoon), Cyndi Lauper, and Blake Lively, they have created a line of Fashion Unites for Japan T-shirts that are really cute and surprisingly affordable! The shirts are embossed with messages of support for the Japanese people, ranging from Orlando Bloom’s “Through Struggle We Unite and Overcome” to Karl Lagerfield’s “Love Hope and Courage.” My favorite is Blake Lively’s design: ‘Just when the caterpillar thought the world was over it became a butterfly,’ under a butterfly version of the Japanese flag—too cute and too clever! The shirts, on sale globally for £12.99 each through Uniqlo beginning June 25, are projected to raise approximately 100 million yen to support Japanese Red Cross Society post-disaster restoration efforts.

So not only are they cute, comfy, and affordable, but they’re always a way to help  those who are suffering in the aftermath of the Japanese disaster—what’s not to love? Visit http://savejapanproject.comfor more information.
