Spring’s most popular styles were on parade last Saturday at Mill Fest as Mill Street was packed full of students enjoying this popular spring quarter tradition. And this fest brought out a variety of hats, crop tops and cross-body bags for the fashionably festing ladies.

Sophomore Stephanie Jarorek, who rocked a chic black and white fedora at Mill Fest, felt the vibe of this much anticipated fest fashion was “casual, as casual as you can get.” Other students created their own style at the fest with custom tees. Juniors Stephanie Kurtz and Stephanie Broan along with several friends had customized Mill Fest shirts.

“We ordered the shirts and then each cut them up differently,” said Kurtz.

While the girls were having fun accessorizing with this season hottest accessories the boys of OU were keeping their fest fashion simpler. The men’s uniform consisted of “cut-up t-shirts and jerseys, said junior Marissa Wood, adding, “You won’t see anything too fashionable on the guys.”

The key to shining at Mill Fest is dressing in your style and keeping comfort in mind.
“I just look in my closet and find something I haven’t worn in a while. I don’t over think it for the fest,” said Javorek. “The fest is about being comfortable and having fun.”

Sophia Fredericksen is a junior at University of Georgia studying magazine journalism. She has written for a wide variety of publications including Her Campus Ohio University, College Fashion, Thread Magazine, and JAYE magazine. Now she is the Editor of Her Campus UGA. In her free time she enjoys reading fashion magazines, playing dress up, taking pictures and trying new food. She hopes to one day write for a fashion magazine in either New York or LA.
Rebekah Meiser is a senior studying Magazine Journalism at Ohio University, with a split specialization in Italian and Art History. Like many Italians, she is obnoxiously proud of her heritage and fully embraces it by consuming embarrassing amounts of pasta, bread and cheese. She currently owes a scary amount of money to the government, but continues to masochistically check Net-a-Porter and Urban Outfitters online for beautiful items that she lusts but cannot afford. Rebekah goes to school in the middle of some of the best cornfields in Ohio. Although she finds the location less than ideal, she has become an avid star-gazer thanks to the unpolluted sky. A true lover of fashion, her friends make fun of her for playing dress up as often as she does, but she’s not one to be discouraged. Rebekah also loves to run (read: alternate between jogging and walking), read fashion blogs, bake, and read magazines (of which she owns a forest-worth). She hopes to live and work in New York City after she graduates in the spring.
