What I Love about Me

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UCD chapter.

After watching Glee a few weeks back (think Rachel wanting a nose job), I was really affected by the message of the episode. In today’s society, there is so much pressure put upon us to be ‘perfect’. What is perfect?! There is no such thing. We all have different characteristics and traits that make us unique and special. So tell me collegiettes™, what do you love about you?

Alicia Kindred, Junior
“I love my crooked smile. It is a family trait and started with my grandpa. I never got to meet him, but I love knowing I have his smile.”

Danielle Pereya, Junior
“I love being Italian because, well, who wouldn’t?!? I love everything about it- the food, the loud family, and culture!”

Monica Ammerman, Sophomore
“I love the fact that I can find joy and fun in things that other people wouldn’t normally find entertaining. I love seeing the joy in the simple things in life.”

Stephanie Wong, Sophomore
“I love being bi-racial and my green eyes. My dad is Chinese and has brown eyes and my mom is white and has blue eyes. I love the outcome!”

Celise Davison, Junior
“I love my tattoos because they allow me to express myself and no one else has them. They make me unique.”

Jessica is currently studying Graphic Design and Psychology at UC Davis. She hopes to one day move to New York and work for a fashion or fitness magazine. When she is not dreaming about her life in New York, she is either running, watching shows on hulu, socializing or baking cupcakes. She loves anything that will make her laugh, sunny days  and everything purple!
