Free Days at the Museum

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UIC chapter.

Living in the city can be the most glorious experience in the world. With endless choices of restaurants, movie theaters, and sightseeing, you can never run out of opportunities for a great Friday night with friends. However, as college students, money doesn’t exactly grow on trees. So how do we get around all this “paying for expensive things in the city” stuff?

Easy! Don’t pay, go for free! Museums all over the Chicago area offer specific days every month where admission is absolutely free. Be sure to utilize these days, for you never know what you can learn, or experience!

Now, have the best of both worlds. Enjoy a relaxing break from studying, and head over to the Museum of Contemporary Art any or every Tuesday, all year round, for no fee! Specifically helpful to UIC students (before your U-Pass expires for the semester), head over this Tuesday, May 3rd for some fun! Check out the many exhibitions offered, and then enjoy a nice dinner or shopping date out on the town!
