With the end of the semester dwindling down come more papers, more homework, and more projects to work on. Which all means less time, or what feels like no time at all, for the gym.Â
I am lucky because while I do have a lot to do, I have still found time to go to the gym and do my normal workout. But, for those of you who have found there is hardly any time to go and get even sexier (which, in the near future, may be the same for me) never fear! You can still get a workout in!
How, might you ask? You’re actually doing it every day. By walking to classes, whether near or far from your dorm or apartment, you are still burning calories. Your backpack full of books will add on to your calorie burning, too.
Another way to help shed some calories in your limited time frame can happen right in your dorm. Did you know cleaning burns calories? Also, you can do sit-ups and push-ups right on your own floor. Throw on a song that pumps you up and dance, punch, and kick your way through it, making sure to keep your body tight the whole time.
I realize that you will not burn as many calories as you would at the gym, but doing it for 15-30 minutes every day will help make you feel accomplished. I know because I did this freshman year (late at night, if my roomie wasn’t around) but then again, even then I still had time to go to the gym.
Trust me, though, it’s fun and worth it! What alternative exercises do you love? How do you get fit without the gym?
