Congratulations Collegiettes™! We have survived the rain of winter and made it to spring quarter! Now, the hard work we put into school and the gym will finally pay off. Hopefully, everyone is taking an easier course load to create more time for the fun that this beautiful weather can offer us! Just to make sure that everyone enjoys all of the glory spring has to offer, here are some day to day activities that go along with spring quarter, please take advantage.
Calendered Events of the Spring:
Relay For Life (April 9th), jog around and enjoy the great weather while also supporting the inspiring cause of Breast Cancer Research Picnic Day (April 16th), celebrate UC Davis’ 97th annual Picnic Day where day drinking and wiener dog races join in a perfect union on our very own UC Davis Campus! Sign the Picnic Day Pledge to preserve this historic event for the future
Rec Pool opens!! Obviously we’re all a little behind on our summer complexions after the gloom that defined winter quarter, so don’t miss out on your chance to bask in the sun and impress everyone with your swan dive at the Rec Pool on Sunday April 17th (the day after picnic day, aka a great way to cure your massive hangover)
House Boats, (May 27-30) The most amazing three day trip/adventure any Davis student can embark on. A description can’t do justice for this epic journey on lake Shasta so all I’ll say on the subject is beer bongs, minimal sleep, beer bongs, beautiful lake, and beer bongs.
Whole Earth Festival, (May 6-8) the 42nd annual zero waste event on the quad, beautifully done and obviously very fun. Embrace your inner flower child and join the hippies for an irie event.
On ALL the other days of spring quarter, here are some other options of things to do (in addition to studying of course…)
Picnic in the arboretum
Tanning on the quad in between classes
Sports games
White Water Rafting Special through Outdoor Adventures
Trudy’s Smoothies in Tercero on the way to the Rec Pool
A ride on the Davis Bike Loop
Farmer’s Market
BBQ with friends
And after class treat yourself to a Wiki, on the daily
