Style Snapshot: Revamp Edition

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Mizzou chapter.

You don’t need to be as rich as the Kardashians in order to be fashionable. True fashion icons including Kate Moss, Agyness Deyn and Sex and the City‘s Carrie Bradshaw are all about being thrifty and mixing and matching the brand names with vintage. Besides, don’t underestimate the power of revamping—after jazzing up some of your long-lost pieces with some easy, at-hand accessories, you might be surprised by the new looks you’ve created!

A sweet and simple revamp starter kit:
-Scissors
-Old t-shirts
-Silk scarf
-Simple bag
-Brooches
-Simple necklaces

From a long nightshirt to a cute crop top
A pair of sharp scissors is all you need. Crop tops are essential in this season; they’re so easy to pull off that simply a pair of high-waisted shorts would do the job in completing the look. Find a long shirt that you no longer want and cut it to whatever length you desire. VoilĂ !

From a monotonous bag to a hobo-chic tote
Hunt through thrift stores or your grandma’s accessories drawer to snag a silk scarf or handkerchief in vibrant colors. Then use it to dress up one a simple, solid-colored, can’t-remember-the-last-time-I-wore-that purse or tote.

From a dollar necklace to a one-of-a-kind choker
Spice up an everyday necklace chain or choker with a fun antique brooch to go from trend to trend-setter!
