IU From a Freshman’s Perspective : Cute Pajamas

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at IU chapter.

Yo yo yo HerCampus! I hope everyone had an excellent weekend!
When I was getting ready to go on my merry way to IU, the Seventeen specials about college and the freshman 15 were always a must read.
One tip that kept coming up again and again was to buy cute pajamas. I didn’t get it. Why did you need cute pajamas? You were just sleeping in them, right?

Well, when the tornado warning came blaring through my windows last night I finally realized why those magazines suggest that you have cute pajamas.
Everyone went out into the hall to see if we needed to head to the basement or just wait it out, but my roommate and I quickly realized we needed to put on some extra clothes.
We both had on only shorts and a T-shirt, but, girls please tell me you know what I’m talking about, we had to throw on some sweatshirts. Putting on a bra at 1 a.m. when you had been wearing one all day is just not desirable.
But we unenthusiastically went out to the hall, and I noticed no one had on cute pajamas.
You’re suppose to be comfortable when you’re in your room, and for me that comfort is a T-shirt and shorts, not some pajama set from Victoria’s Secret.
Turns out those college guides don’t know it all.
