The week before Spring Break can be the worst of the semester for students here at Quinnipiac. With just a week left before you can go home and hang out with old friends, or lay on the warm beach on vacation, getting through Mid-Terms can be a struggle. Here are a few tips on how to get through them.
- Make a plan– Figure out a study plan where you study a little for every test each day. By spreading it out you’ll be able to see where you need to spend more time on certain subjects and where you can spend less time.

Respect Quiet Hours– With 24-hour quiet hours in effect for the whole week, utilize them. The entire campus follows the same policy; it will be almost silent, allowing you to have the perfect study hours. Make a plan with your roommates as well so you can all study and respect each other’s study habits.
- Turn off ALL electronics– Deactivate your Facebook, unplug your television, do whatever you need to do. Facebook and television can only distract you, causing you to not get any studying done.  If the library is just too quite for you  and you need a little noise, try putting your IPod on low so you can have some noise and not distract your roommates.
- Try chewing gum– Some studies show that if you take tests in the same place, you’ll perform better. So try chewing gum while studying then chew the same flavor while taking the exam.It may help you remember the information for the exam.
- SLEEP– Even though it’s important to study, if you don’t sleep you won’t perform well on your tests.  A solid eight hours will ensure that you’re awake and ready to ace the next exam.
- Eat breakfast– Eating a good meal will make sure that you’re wide awake and ready to take your exams.  By waking up the extra half hour and going to the caf, it will not only make sure you get up in time for the test, but also give you an opportunity to fill your stomach so you won’t be distractingly hungry during your test.
- Set an alarm– While studying until late, you want to make sure you get up early enough, so set an alarm before you start studying.  If you’re scared it’s not going to do the trick, set two.  Try setting your phone and your IHome to remind you to get up in time.
