DePauw’s Must-Have Shoe Trends

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at DePauw chapter.

The kicks around DePauw’s campus are undergoing a transition period, so toss those worn-in flip-flops over your shoulder! Right now! It’ s not summer anymore- fall is here, which means it’s time to cover up your toes (for the most part) and become one with the season (a.k.a. invest in some of the trendy shoes of fall).   Don’t just sink into wearing your Birkenstocks every day, everywhere.   Our team at HerCampus DePauw wants to make sure you’re on your toes, so we put together a list of the most frequently worn shoes.

Clean and Simple: Sperry’s

Even though you’re not sailing along the East Coast, you can still flaunt the classic boat shoe.  The right amount of college prep and comfort will make your white, cropped jeans and fitted sweater come together perfectly.  Check out Sperry’s online at sperrytopsider.com to order a pair for yourself!

Pretty and Pointed: Colored Point Toe Flats

Slip your feet into a pair of these cute flats!  They’re dressy enough to add some color to your little black dress, professional enough to pair with a khaki pencil skirt and Oxford button up, and casual enough to pull on some jeans and head to the HUB for lunch.  On your next trip to Target make sure to stop by the shoe section and pick up a pair of Xhilaration® Saniya Point Toe Flats (in purple, if you must) for $16.99!

Industrial Meets Chic: Rebel Booties

Pull on some vintage-looking, ankle high, leather boots and walk rebelliously into your 10:40 Biology lab.  The buckle décor and the easy-going feel will have the hottie a few stations down looking your way.  Try looking for the Madden Girl Exciting Buckle Bootie at DSW for $49.95 (steal!).

Upgrade from Sneakers to Statement: Nike Dunks

These shoes originated on the basketball courts, but today you can wear them everywhere.  Show of your true colors and your sporty side by lacing up some of these sweet kicks.  The Nike Delta Force High come in a variety of styles and are easily found at Finish Line pricing from $80-$130.
