Pimples are a pain in the you know what. In my quest for perfect skin, I’ve tried so many different cleansers and “miracle” gels, but have never been able to honestly say that any of them eliminated my pimples quickly…or at all. So I guess you could say I’m a bit of a skeptic when it comes to pimple products and that I stopped believing in them a long time ago.
There is one product, however, that has intrigued me for quite some time: the Zeno Hot Spot. I’d seen Whitney Port trying it out on those TV commercials and was instantly curious about this new blemish-fighting tool.
The Zeno Hot Spot is a blemish-clearing thermal hand-held device that uses one simple ingredient—heat—to destroy the bacteria that causes your pimples. The Hot Spot’s built-in computer controls a treatment tip that delivers the perfect, individualized level of heat to your blemish and attacks bacteria, but doesn’t hurt your skin.
The Hot Spot promises “quick and painless acne relief” (the device provides visible blemish clearing within just one hour and eliminates or significantly reduces 90% of blemishes within 24 hours), and I was up for that! After all, I don’t consider myself to be a patient person by any sense of the word, and I am certainly not patient when it comes to eliminating blemishes on my face.
Suffice it to say, I was curious enough to suspend my disbelief in order to give the Zeno Hot Spot my unbiased attention when I got offered the chance to try it out. I found myself actually waiting for a pimple…sick, I know. Well, that time arrived and I got a pimple. That night, I tested out the Zeno shortly before going to bed.
The whole process was really simple: I just had to cleanse the tip of the Hot Spot, turn it on, and hold it on my blemish for 2 1/2 minutes while the device administered heat.
It didn’t hurt at all; as a sun-lover, it was actually sort of pleasant to feel a bit of heat on my face. Afterwards, I noticed a bit of redness around my blemish (perfectly normal for right after using the device) and I went to bed soon after, excited for the Zeno to work its magic. The next morning, my blemish looked MUCH, MUCH better and was smaller and less red. Just in case I was trying to convince myself that it actually looked better (hey, wishful thinking works sometimes!), I asked for my mom’s opinion. She agreed: It looked soo much better.
This is probably the first product that actually gave tangible results and fast. Plus, I didn’t have to scrub on any smelly creams that made my skin sting, or wash my face for several minutes; all I had to do was hold the Hot Spot against my face for 2 1/2 minutes.
Most blemishes need two to three 2 ½ minute Hot Spot treatments; some are eliminated with just one treatment. I used the Hot Spot two more times on the same area just to see how that would affect it, and each time it looked even better. But really, it looked so much better after only one use. This is the kind of quick result that an impatient and busy college gal needs. One Zeno Hot Spot ($39.99) comes with 80 uses, so it’s sure to last you for quite some time.
Have you tried the Hot Spot yet? What did you think? Leave a comment!
