1. CardHolder Instead of Wallet
Invest in a cardholder to stick on the back of your phone! If you’re anything like me, I cannot leave anywhere without my phone, but I never think about my wallet or purse. This has been a complete lifesaver for me. I don’t have to carry around a whole wallet, and it’s easier only having to think about one item. We constantly have to use our school IDs to swipe into everything or to order food, so it is perfectly convenient for the student lifestyle.
2. Umbrella
If you don’t like getting randomly poured on, invest in an umbrella! The weather in Texas is bipolar; one second it could be sunny and bright, the next it’s raining with lightning. I bought mine at the bookstore and always keep it in my gym bag or backpack just in case.
3. Shower shoes
Whether you have a communal bathroom or only share it with one other person, get a pair of flip-flops/sandals that can get wet. It’s always a good idea to protect the bottoms of your feet, even if someone cleans the bathrooms. You never know what bacteria could be on those shower floors!
4. Oil-blotting Sheets
These are easy to keep in your pocket, bag, or backpack anywhere you go. Walking from your dorm to your classes, back to your dorm, and then go to lunch with friends can get you sweating like crazy, especially in the months of August and September. Even if you don’t have super oily skin, these will keep you looking fresh-faced wherever you go.
5. Waterproof and/or Blister Bandaids
I found myself running to Kroger the second day I was on campus because I already had blisters from my new shoes. I had been walking so much due to sorority recruitment and going out with friends, and I ended up almost using the whole first package of bandaids that I bought! Again, you will most likely be sweating walking from place to place, so I highly recommend the waterproof ones.
