Fall in Love This Fall: Date Ideas for the Change in Seasons

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Fairfield chapter.

The leaves changing and sweater weather means cozying up with your significant other! It’s now the perfect time to come up with some simple, cute, and fun date ideas for the new season. Even though the weather is cooling down, you should still make time to go on dates with your boo!

As the fall season approaches, a great way to kick it off is a trip to a local apple orchard. Who doesn’t love a sweet, delicious apple? Especially when it comes with some cinnamon donuts and hot apple cider! It’s also a wonderful way to dress up in your best pair of wide leg jeans and matching flannels to take some adorable pictures together.

A similar idea to apple picking is pumpkin picking! Going to a pumpkin patch with your significant other is another great seasonal date that you only have so much time to do. Once you pick out the best pumpkin, you can carve them and make a tasty pumpkin pie or my favorite, chocolate chip pumpkin bread.

If you’re a Gilmore Girls fan, channel Autumn Festival vibes by finding a carnival near you. This could make for more of an adventure as it may involve some traveling depending on where you live. Taking the time to visit a county fair provides for old-fashioned fun like riding the ferris wheel, playing a carnival game, eating some fried dough or caramelized apples, and going on a hayride.

If you’re looking for a thrill to go along with the Halloween festivities, visiting a haunted house attraction is great. A little scare never hurt anybody, especially if you have your partner there by your side to keep you safe. Halloween always stirs up some excitement in the air, making it a true bonding experience.

Last but certainly not least, the simplest things sometimes make for the best times. If neither of you feel like going out, an ideal way to stay in would be to snuggle up on the couch with some blankets, hot buttered popcorn, and a classic Halloween movie. Whether it’s a fan favorite Disney movie like Halloweentown or classic horror like Nightmare on Elm Street, you’re bound to have an amazing night celebrating the season of fall.
