In an effort to not promote alcoholism nor unhealthy drinking habits, one can at least acknowledge that trying different alcohol brands and mixes adds a little spice to any celebration. Whether you mix a non-alcoholic beverage directly with an alcoholic beverage or use a non-alcoholic beverage as a chaser, try these drink combinations, and ingredients, and see if they could be your next “go-to.”

Personally, as a Chicanx, Buchanan mixed with cranberry juice and pineapple juice is my go-to. It’s what you will always find at Mexican parties and it was actually my first legal drink. When I’m around my friends though, it’s a fifth of Hennessy and Coke for the win. Once you try these mixed drinks and have a chosen one, it’s only a matter of time before your friends crown you Queen or King of Malibu, Grey Goose, Remy, or a self-proclaimed Henny Queen as myself.
