Dressing up for Halloween is the perfect opportunity to be creative. Getting to dress up with your significant other offers the opportunity to be even more creative. Since buying two Halloween costumes can be expensive, here are five couple costumes that you might already have in your closet and are very easy to recreate!
- Daphne and Fred (Scooby-Doo)

This iconic duo is the perfect costume because it’s simple to recreate their looks while still being instantly recognizable. For Daphne, all you need is a purple dress, a green scarf and her signature headband. If you have a pair of go-go boots, that’s definitely a plus. Fred’s costume is even more simple. Just find a white shirt, a pair of jeans and an orange scarf. To add a little more character to the look, carry around a plush Scooby-Doo or your own magnifying glasses.

Here’s another iconic, instantly recognizable couple whose look is relatively easy to recreate. For Morticia, all you need is a long black dress. The most important part of her look is her makeup; contour your cheekbones, put on some red lipstick and learn how to master the smoky eye look. For Gomez, you will need a black striped suit complete with a bowtie, a ton of hair gel for a slicked look and a mustache. Some accessories to heighten the look could be a prop zombie hand or an elegant red rose.

These Rydell High School sweethearts are the definition of iconic. Almost everyone has memorized the moment when Sandy emerges in her black leather ensemble and red heels and utters the words “tell me about it, stud”. These looks are also fairly easy to recreate. For Danny, you need a black t-shirt, black jeans and a leather jacket. A crucial part of his characterization is his hairstyle; you’re going to need a good amount of hair gel to recreate it. Sandy’s look requires a black crop top, leather pants and red heels. Her hairstyle is also a signature part of her look; look up videos on Youtube on how to recreate it.
- Zorro and elena (THe mark of Zorro)

This look is a little more unique but just as recognizable. To look like Zorro, what you need is an all-black ensemble with a cape, black mask and a faux mustache (or a real mustache if you’re really dedicated!). You can get a black hat from any costume store or craft store and add a glittery gold Z. To recreate Elena’s glamorous look, simply wear a white corset and a long white skirt. To spice up the costumes, find some plastic swords at any costume store.

This beloved action movie was a staple of many of our childhoods. Its lead characters, Rick and Evelyn, carry their own legacy. Rick’s look is fairly simple, with a white button-down shirt, cargo pants and a blue bandana tied around his neck. The key to nailing his look is to roughen yourself up: roll up your sleeves, ruffle your hair and even add some dirt stains to your white shirt. For Evelyn, you’re also going to need a white button-down shirt. You’ll also need a loose tie, a tan skirt, and a round-rim hat. Add some adventuring equipment to heighten the look.
