Ah, movie night. After being unable to see the latest blockbuster hits on the big screen for a year, it’s exciting to finally be able to sit down and enjoy a bag of popcorn while you watch the newest release. But what if you could have more? Do you want to experience the intense high-speed car chases and superhero action all from the comfort of your own seat? Thankfully, with D-Box, you can!
I received the opportunity to watch Venom: Let There Be Carnage through a D-Box seat. It was double the price of a normal seat at 25 dollars. Was it worth it? I’d say so, especially if you’re really invested in the movie, and here’s why:Â
With blockbuster hits such as Dune and Marvel’s Eternals hitting the big screen, it can be hard to truly empathize what characters are going through — I don’t know about you, but high speed intergalactic vehicle chases are not on my daily agenda — but with D-Box, viewers get to experience those l twists and turns in real time, with every camera pan being synced to the movements of the chair. The 4D movie experiences of the previous decade have finally been integrated into everyday movie theatres, making the experience pretty accessible!
Unfortunately, there are a few downsides to a moveable movie experience. If you or a fellow movie-goer experiences motion sickness, it might be best to stick with a regular (or if you’re feeling fancy, a recliner) seat. Even with the strongest stomach, the non-stop movement may require a “seat break” during the movie.Â
Overall, I’d rate the D-Box experience a 7/10. It’s a thrilling experience with rollercoaster-type movements that enhance your movie-experience. Just make sure to hold on tight to your popcorn!
