Fall Fashion is in Full Swing, and I Am Here For It

Fall is my favorite season. The leaves turn beautiful colors, the air gets colder, the drinks get warmer. The colder air can only mean one thing: fall fashion is back. Back are the days of sweaters, flannels, and jackets.

Being able to layer up is one of the best parts of fall fashion. It’s like getting to wear three outfits in one. One for when you’re walking outside, one for when you first get inside and you’re still recovering from the cold, and one for when you’re finally warm enough.

This year, the trends are better than ever. Skirts for fall? Yes, please! Tights are back and better than ever to keep us warm in our mini-skirts. Gone are the days when we surrender cute outfits for the weather.

Speaking of trends, leather jackets are in and I am HERE for it. Not only do they keep you warm, but it’s impossible not to feel cool when wearing one. My favorite one is a hand-me-down from my mom, but thrift stores seem to be overflowing with them lately.

Possibly the best part of fall, though, are the shoes. Short boots, tall boots, high-heeled boots, flat boots. Boots are the classic fall shoe, but this year something new is in. Flats, loafers, oxfords, you name it. The bonus with these shorter shoes is that you get to have fun with socks. Personally, I like fun colored and patterned socks, but some like ones with ruffles and lace.

Overall, fall is a fun time for experimenting with clothes. You can hide the more crazy layers underneath less crazy outerwear if you’re feeling only a little experimental, or you can do what I do most days: roll out of bed and throw on your sweatpants. At least once a week, I try and throw on something half decent.

I wish you all a happy (and stylish) fall!
