Getting back into the swing of school can be an easy task for some, but really tough on others. Depending on your adventures or vacation time and dedication/work ethic this summer, you may or may not be motivated to just hit the ground running.
Balancing school, work, clubs, sports, church and other extracurriculars can be crazy.
Everyone’s situation is different, and some college students definitely have it easier than others.
It’s important to remember that we are all going through something different.
Students, teachers and our individual families all go through hardships that require care and attention outside of school.
Figure out what works for you. Does this mean changing your class schedule? Getting a written or electronic calendar? Picking up a new job?
We all have a different way of doing things, and it is so important to show yourself grace during such a hectic season. Being busy is so good, however, it also requires a little bit of planning.
Creating a steady routine, comfy home and a happy circle is also a GREAT way to jump into the school year!

Be intentional with your calendar, and the people you spend time with.Â
If you feel motivated, loved and cherished around your friends, you are doing something right. College should not be about cliques, we are adults now.
Make sure you are being responsible in putting school and work first, but don’t make it your whole life.Â
It is easy to fall into the workaholic mode, especially in our culture. We are always challenging and pushing ourselves in new ways, and it is easy to make it your whole world.Â
The beginning of the school year can be such an exciting and fulfilling time.
Make new friends, branch out and do things that are out of your comfort zone.
Resist falling into the pattern of mundane tasks. You can find so much joy in experiencing new things and starting the year off with a kick.
Brainstorm ideas that will work for you and get excited about what the school year has to offer. It is so important to surround yourself with a good community, it really changes the way you live your life at school.Â
If you are a senior or even an incoming freshman, this could be your best year of college yet, but it doesn’t just come…you have to make it happen!
With a healthy schedule and a great group of friends, this could be an amazing year for you.
