Red flags are warning signs about someone which may hint to further issues. A red flag can be as trivial as refusing to eat anything but donuts for breakfast or as serious as calling someone 49 times when they don’t answer a text in five minutes. As a chapter, Her Campus CU collaborated on a list of our red flags. Here’s to being self-aware!
Questionable Food Choices
“I don’t mind pineapple on my pizza.”
“I eat plain salt as a snack.”
“I eat raw oats. Right out of the jar.”
“I will eat shredded cheese straight out of the bag as a snack.”
“White cheddar popcorn is my crack.”
“I order the same item from Starbucks regardless of the weather. I can’t go a single day without one venti iced caramel macchiato or I will lose my mind.”
Relationship Issues
“I tell my sister literally everything, whether or not I should be sharing some things.”
“I cannot decipher romantic love from platonic love.”
“If a boy is too nice to me I automatically lose all interest.”
“My revenge complex is scary.”
“I told my boyfriend I would return the favor on back massages two years ago and have weaseled my way out of it thus far.”
“I talk dirty with no intention of actually doing anything.”
“I talk back to his mama.”
“I’d rather be quiet than tell people what’s bothering me.”
Self-Care Concerns
“I dye my hair after any minor inconvenience.”
“Sometimes I don’t put deodorant on if I’m not seeing anyone.”
“I Febreeze my clothes instead of washing them…like dry shampoo.”
“I look at myself crying in the mirror to validate that my feelings are real.”
Controversial Habits
“I have a collection of Bass Pro Shop paraphernalia.”
“I post my own TikToks on my finsta.”
“Any time I watch a TV show or movie and like a character, I immediately make their personality mine for the next month.”
“I am an Apple music user.”
“My guilty pleasure is looking at Kardashian Halloween costumes.”
“I forget important things and have a horrible memory.”
“I get frustrated with people who actually go the speed limit. If you’re not going 5-10 above at all times what are you doing?”
“I take pictures of every good grade I get to look back on when I’m sad.”
“I paid a total of $15 on three separate apps in one night to see who my Instagram stalkers are.”
“I call women ‘females.’”
“Before I go to bed, I have to make sure that I have no visible notifications on my phone and that all my apps are closed, otherwise I can’t sleep.”
Thankfully I’m not alone in my questionable habits (except for whoever Febrezes their clothes, that’s a mega red flag) because clearly, the girls of Her Campus CU Boulder have just as many red flags as me. What are some of your red flags?
