That April date,

Who knew it’d be the last

That we were enjoying life

It seems the day went by so fast

———-

Four o’clock came

And we headed home

Passing our special place

With waters white as foam

———-

The day ended and I said goodnight

You waved goodbye,

smiled

and then turned out your light

———-

You never made it clear

That they were doing this to you

A young and daring boy

Is all we ever knew

———-

In the eyes of those you were unknown to

You had your glory days

For a moment, your name was known to them

Now it’s lost in a haze

———-

But to me, you’re always here

Lingering around

Your memory carried through the wind

Is forever my favorite sound

———-

In the reality of it all,

you thought it was time to go,

So now your hands are clasped together

for an infinity or so

———-

Above all thoughts I guess

You thought life wasn’t meant to be

And felt like your soul was in prison

And death was the only escape to set it free

———-

It’s been sometime now

And things don’t feel the same

For your soul is missing from this life

And I feel like I’m to blame

———-

In Heaven, you’re free from pain

And surrounded by love

And now you are my angel

Watching from above.
