I think we can all admit that life is CRAZY busy! Unfortunately, life doesn’t slow down just so you can celebrate Valentine’s Day with your significant other. My boyfriend and I are feeling the distance now more than ever as our lives are jam packed down to the minute.
I wouldn’t necessarily say we’re in a “long” distance relationship, but there is some inconvenience in our locations. When I’m at school, we are an hour apart and when I’m at home, we are two hours apart. While I know it’s nothing comparatively, it is still a drive, and it really bites when Valentine’s Day is on a Monday. My boyfriend and I have become very immune to the less than12 hour visits of saying hi and bye about once a week or two, but I really wanted to do something special for our third Valentine’s Day together. However, life said not this year, so we are trying to get a little creative!
We had plans, things came up, plans changed, plans got canceled, and now we’re back to another 12 hour visit. I’m so appreciative of the time we share, but I’m sure you get the jist. So, to the point of my article, here are a few ideas on how to celebrate your valentine when you only have a few hours!
First, make dinner together! This is personally what my love and I are doing! It allows you to do something special together and still have one on one time. Bonus: I can’t cook, so he is doing all of the work.
Second, go out to eat! Romantic dinners are the BEST if they’re in the budget and the timeframe. Or if you’re like my boyfriend and I, you might prefer wings and burgers rather than something fancy.
Third, try bowling, laser tag, go karts, an arcade, or see a movie! All of these are fun and time efficient, and will surely make you feel like the child you are at heart.
I have the BEST boyfriend who is making sure we get to spend some much needed time together this weekend in between our crazy busy days. I hope you all gave the best Valentine’s Day and you get to send it with some people you love! Appreciate every minute of it – even if you’re in a time crunch!
