Now that February is coming to an end, here are a few things I have consumed this month:
Gone Berry Crazy
I went to the Trader Joes on 14th street and found this snack. To be honest, I didn’t know what exactly I was buying, but I am a sucker for cute packaging especially if there are adorable animals on them. They’re frozen dark chocolate covered strawberries that are absolutely delectable. I’m told that there are also banana ones called “Gone Bananas.” If I wasn’t deathly allergic to bananas, I would have bought them.
Kanye’s feud against the world
It’s pretty well known that Kanye struggles with BPD and that he is in the midst of a messy divorce with Kim Kardashian. Starting with an attack against Billie Eilish, Kanye’s instagram spiraled from funny memes, a self inserted Captain America poster, fighting with Kid Cudi, declaring Peppa Pig an enemy, forgiving Kid Cudi to threats of violence against Kim Kardashian and Pete Davidson AKA “Skete.” This breakdown led to Kim reaching out to Kanye, Kanye becoming a trending search and a boatload of memes mocking the situation. Mental illness is a difficult situation to navigate and people fail to understand that Kanye can’t be “fixed” by being shipped off to therapy or just by taking his meds. An increasingly scary situation leaves all parties involved vulnerable and scared.
Inventing AnnaÂ
I’ve been pretty outspoken about how I believe Anna Delvey, real name Anna Sorokin, is our generation’s girlboss. For four years, Anna Sorokin pretended to be a German heiress named Anna Delvey. She swindled hundreds of thousands of dollars from everyone around her, whether it be banks, hotels, restaurants or even her friends. Inventing Anna is a Netflix series about a journalist who is investigating the case of Anna Delvey. I didn’t enjoy it as much as I thought I would but I have to admit it is very drama packed.
Marry Me
I’m not going to lie, there is something about rom coms that just do it for me. The combination of cringe, cheesiness, and predictability makes rom-coms my safe space. So obviously when I heard there was a new rom com in town, I had to go check it out. Basically an ad for J-Lo, Marry Me is actually one of the worst movies I’ve ever seen. And there is something about Owen Wilson that disturbs me so much. HOWEVER, honestly it was so bad that it was so good. There’s just something about hate-watching that is fulfilling and I’m sure Universal used this to their advantage.
Euphoria x Dominic Fike
Warning: Euphoria spoilers ahead!
The season 2 finale of Euphoria gave us a four minute song, written by Zendaya and Labrinth and sung by Dominic Fike. Unfortunately, Euphoria failed to realize that NO ONE CARED ENOUGH TO HEAR A FOUR MINUTE SONG. Following the end of the episode, watchers fled to Twitter to tweet their initial thoughts, reactions and memes. It was so explosive that Dominic Fike took to Instagram to post his thoughts. Hot take, I loved the song! However, I think that it shouldn’t have been so long, especially with everything else happening at the end…
