These are some of my favorite things/things I enjoy about my school, James Madison University, in no particular order.
- The academics
- The BEAUTIFUL campus (I am 100% in love with this place)
- Carrier Library (literally the best)
- Getting Iced Chai Tea Lattes at the Starbucks in the bottom floor of carrier library ❤️
- The school spirit, you see people wearing purple everywhere
- The pop-up farmer’s market on Wednesdays outside of the Union
- Holding the door open for fellow dukes
- Always seeing dogs on campus!
- Going to dinner at Dhall with my friends
- Going on walks around our lovely campus all the time
- Ordering Starships (the little robots that deliver you food on campus)
- Students have a lot of independence and the ability to make their own decisions
- The size of the school
- The nightlife at JMU
- Overhearing the funniest conversations while walking around campus
- Great collection of classes to choose from- even though it can be super stressful when registering for classes
- Some of the general education classes that I have really enjoyed
- The blue lights (the outdoor emergency phones to contact JMU police) all over campus
- There are so many clubs that you can join
- Our mascot
- Having to live on campus freshman year
- Our school colors (purple & gold)
- The motto “Being the Change”
- JMU Saferides being a great option to keep students safe on weekend nights
- Mr. Chips (the little grocery store on campus)
- The occasional concerts on campus
- Being a part of a sorority
- The way campus looks in the evening
- The cherry blossoms on campus in the spring!
- Picking up mail or packages from the union (my favorite notifications haha)
- That most people wear comfy clothes to class and around campus
- There are always so many activities you can do on campus
- The quad (which becomes the hottest spot on campus when it is nice outside)
- Dhall sandwiches
- The burgers from the Den in Dukes DiningÂ
- Blue Ridge Bowl in Dukes DiningÂ
- Market 64 in Dhall (especially their drink station)
- The Baja Bowl and the smoothies from Freshens
- Steak & Shake being open until midnight
- Festival on East Campus
- There are so many study spots on campus (both quiet and not so quiet)
- Getting to meet new people on campus all of the timeÂ
- Getting Dunkin in the Student Success Center
- Going to Urec (especially when it isn’t crowded)
- SOS Greek (the Fraternity & Sorority clothing store with greek letters) being near campus
- Being in the Village (minus the no air conditioning in our rooms haha)
- The window looking out on the village in my dorm roomÂ
- How classes differ from those taken in high school
- Meeting new people in my classes
- Going to such an amazing school!!!
