Hey readers! I’m back, and I am in Italy!! I am currently on an architectural study abroad program and decided to let y’all in on four of my favorite places in Italy that are the land of pasta’s hidden gems! (Disclaimer: ‘hidden’ refers to places that are not world-renowned such as Rome, Venice, Florence, and Milan)
- Assisi – This place is so beautiful and is a perfect city to travel to for a day. There are many beautiful cathedrals and basilica’s and is home to St. Francis of Assisi. This place is definitely worth a slice of your time!
2. Cortona – While some of you may have heard of Cortona, it is not one of the big four, so I went ahead and put it on the list. Slightly larger than Assisi, Cortona offers amazing views and architecture, and their restaurants are bomb!
3. Arezzo – Famous as the location on which the move, “Life is Beautiful,” is based, Arezzo truly is a gem. Not only is it charming, it also offers amazing architectural and shopping experiences!
4. Castiglion Fiorentino – Last but certainly not least, we have the jewel of Castiglion Fiorentino. This is the town where I have studied the past two-and-a-half months, and I have simply fallen in love with the place! It is smaller than the beginning three towns, but it has just as much to offer. From, the best gelateria to a stunning historical shopping district, Castiglion Fiorentino has it all. I would highly recommend this town as a day trip to experience the country-side of Italy!
This was a short article listing some of my favorite places in Italy. Think of it as a preview, if you will, for what is to come. ๐ It feels good to be back in the writing world, and I can’t wait to see you in my next article!
