I cannot wait for summer. It is my favorite season and, in my opinion, the best time of year. There’s no school, everything is green and beautiful, the sunsets, late nights, warm rain and thunderstorms, practically no responsibilities, shall I go on? I do not know about you, but I want to do so much this summer. I want my summer to be filled with memories and laughter and not just sitting in my room and going to work. Here is my perfect bucket list for this summer.
Spending time outside
I am sick of the cold weather! I need sunlight and warm weather. There is so much to do outside, especially in New Hampshire (that’s where I am from lol). However, I want to go on hikes, swim (that includes pool days, lake days, and beach days), sit in the rain, ride a bike, roller skate, walk in a park, and roll in the grass. Living in the city is fun but I miss being in nature.
Going to the park
I am dying for a nice park day. I want to have a cute little picnic with my friends, play some music, have a good laugh, and soak up the sun.
Watching the sunrise
I am not a morning person. However, I do love sunrises (especially on the beach). There is no one on the roads, very few people are up, and it’s just the right time to reflect and enjoy what is around you.
Late night drives
There is nothing that beats late night drives. I just want to hop in the car and drive. There does not need to a destination in mind; just soft music (or loud depending on your mood), and a great group of friends.
Stargaze
Another thing that I love is space. The city is too bright to see any stars and I just want to look up and stare at the sky. Preferably, I want to see an infinite amount of stars, like the scenery you see in the middle of nowhere. However, I will settle for ever just a few stars.
Make the ultimate playlist
I want to have the best summer playlist. I do not care if everyone does not like it, all that matters is I need to like it. Some of the songs I have added: “Cruel Summer” by Taylor Swift, “As It Was” by Harry Styles, “Worst Behavior” by Ariana Grande, “Crash” by Charli XCX, “Easy” by Troye Sivan, “About Damn Time” by Lizzo, and “Déjà vu” by Olivia Rodrigo. Little Trips
Personally, I live an hour from Boston, two from Cape Code, Vermont, and the Mountains, and an hour from the Beach. I just want to hop in the car with my friends and have a cute little day somewhere.
Bonfires and Movie Nights
I love a good bonfire on a hot summer night with some s’mores. I also love watching movies outside. Drive-in movie theaters are great, but I prefer to watch a movie outside on a lawn. Just grab some blankets and then enjoy the moment
Live in the moment
I tend to have a hard time with this one. My anxiety and insecurities tend to cloud my mind and I forget that life is pretty cool. I just need to remember to take a deep breath, look at my surroundings, and just enjoy the moment.
Quality time with friends
Above all else, if I cannot finish everything on this list; there most important thing I want to come out of this summer is spending quality time with my friends. Of course, I can complete this list with my friends; but I want to make sure that there are plenty of memories made. I truly love my friends back home and I cannot wait to spend every day with them.
