Britanni Adu

Hello! Hope all is well to whomever is reading. My name is Britanni (Brita-nni) Adu ! I am proud to say I currently an Old Dominion student studying Marketing minor in Fashion Merchandising. As of this time I am credited as a Junior. I am originally from Midlothian, Virginia which is just about thirty minutes out from our state's capital, Richmond. Recently this past month, I have just celebrated my 23rd birthday. Just like any other GenZer I enjoy social media, probably a little bit more than the average user. From posting pictures, to learning DIYs, or watching/learning new fashion trends, someone could easily see me as someone addicted to social media. Though social media can be seen as something very negative for me it has been an outlet for self expression and a source of learning. As for someone who knows me well knows I love expressing myself. Verbally, artistically, musically if I can share my point of view, an idea, or maybe some unique knowledge, I am there! This is exactly how I ended on HERcampus, searching for a new space to grow at ODU. Growing up I have always been involved in some type of activity. Things such as participating in my local church's events ( food drives, bible study, etc.), from all-star cheerleading, to traveling with my family, it seems like I always try to have something on my plate. Though since being at college it has been quite an adjustment for me. Meeting me at first I can be quite timid and scared of change, so for about the first two years of college I had a very hard time adjusting to being alone here in Norfolk and the reality of growing up. I sadly recent just lost my best friend some may say father, so that had a extreme toll on my outlook on life, but through my faith and therapy I have been getting through it, I would say peacefully. Either way I was impressed with the few articles that I had the opportunity to read, and too the podcast episodes on Spotify and I feel in love. Like I said I love forms of self expression and thought this opportunity of joining you guys would be lovely!
