I'm a first-year PhD candidate at the University of Leeds. My undergraduate was in History, my master's in Politics and International Relations both at the University of Sheffield.
My project uses a feminist lens to look at the phenomenon of 'peacekeeper babies' and whether the United Nations is effectively safeguarding women and girls in conflict zones from peacekeeper sexual exploitation and abuse.
I am very interested in politics, particularly issues in affecting women and LQBTQIA+ peoples. I love to read – particularly in the new adult genre, and I enjoy going to gigs and festivals. Since the end of lockdowns in the UK, I've really tried to travel and have visited Paris, Como, Verona, Florence, Rome, Naples and Sicily since November 2021.
My writing interests are in women's rights, politics, history, life on campus, travel, book/live music reviewing, and mental wellbeing.
