Grace Virani

Hi! I'm Grace Virani, and I'm thrilled to be starting as a freshman at Queen's University, majoring in science. I just graduated from Collingwood School in West Vancouver, where I was an Admissions Ambassador, captain of the cross-country team, and a varsity athlete in soccer, cross country, and track and field. My high school years were filled with wonderful experiences that fueled my passion for leadership and teamwork.

I've had some incredible volunteer opportunities over the years. From 2022 to 2023, I volunteered at Science World in Vancouver, where I helped enhance guest experiences by facilitating science demonstrations and explaining exhibits. I also made sure to model and reinforce health and safety policies to keep everyone safe. In 2021 and 2022, I volunteered with Kid Safe in BC, delivering necessities like food and toiletries to their out-of-school programs and wrapping Christmas gifts for the kids. Additionally, I've been babysitting in Vancouver since 2018, supervising and entertaining groups of kids while their parents were in meetings or out of the house.

One of my most rewarding experiences was completing a service project called Smile Kits for Ronald McDonald House from 2021 to 2022. I created and delivered bags filled with fun activities for children staying at Ronald McDonald House BC and Yukon, aiming to bring them a bit of joy during tough times. My dedication to helping others has been recognized with Leadership Honors, highlighting my commitment to nurturing, guiding, and supporting those around me. I'm fluent in English and conversational in French, and I strive to be hard-working, creative, and empathetic. I'm excited to bring my passion for science and community service to Queen's University and can't wait to see what the future holds!
