Hanna Meeks

As a student in the 21st century, I have grown up being exposed to the news and learning how to navigate the world of digital media. In elementary school, I discovered my niche for writing. My little composition notebook spilled with pages full of short essays and narratives in big bubbly letters. Since then, I have continued to fuel my passion for writing by taking courses in high school and college that teach me to be a better journalist.

I grew up in the suburbs of Colorado Springs, Colorado, just beneath the majestic purple Rocky Mountains. I spent most of my childhood in the mountains, immersed in the unique nature of Colorado. Since then, the city has grown more than 100,000 people wider, and continues to expand rapidly, trying so desperately to accommodate the unsatisfied east-coasters flocking to the mountains.

Currently, I study at the University of Kansas, majoring in Digital Marketing Communications at the William Allen White School of Journalism and Mass Communication, and have declared a minor in Sports Management. I am actively involved in campus clubs and activities such as KU Rugby, Ad Club, and the All Scholarship Hall Council. I serve as the Secretary of my scholarship hall where I oversee the executive team and keep our hall up to date on important information! I am extremely passionate about the health and fitness world and my pet fish, Aaron!
