Maya Friedrich is a writer, satirist, and journalism student from Seattle. She is a regular contributor to The Simmons Voice, where she holds a satire column called The Shady Shark. In addition to writing, Maya performs standup comedy in the Boston area. Maya is also an advocate for mental health and addiction awareness, and has written about her own experiences overcoming related challenges in Recovery Campus Magazine and Ryan Hampton's Voices Project. In her free time, Maya enjoys knitting, swimming, and watching comedy in all forms.
