Maya Jokhadze

Hi there! I’m Maya I am a freshman at the University of Pittsburgh and I want to be a writer for Pitt’s Her Campus Chapter! I’m interested in writing about things I learn about college life that I want to share with other girls. Like the best places to buy clothes, do nails, get coffee, which clubs to join, and where to study! I’m also interested in pop culture and current events and would love to find ways to incorporate them into my articles.
I’m looking to get involved in many different factions on campus and try out various clubs and opportunities. I’m interested of course in writing, but also all things pre-health and pre-dental as I am working towards becoming a pediatric dentist. I worked this past summer as a Dental Assistant where I got to shadow and assist many intriguing dental cases and help out around the office. I also am interested in volunteering for the America’s Reading Challenge in which I would travel to various locations around Pittsburgh to help children with their homework and academics. I want to try out as many different things as I can at my time here at Pitt!!
I love skiing—especially out West in Colorado as I did this past winter. Shopping and also (equally as important), trying to sell my clothes on Depop. I also enjoy reading; I just finished Wide Sargasso Sea and am working on finishing Little Women—I want to finish it before I watch the movie! I’m really excited to see what this semester has in store for me and all of us!
