Michelle Dang is an second-year honors student at UMass Boston. Currently, she is studying Urban Public Health with a minor in Creative Writing. Though she doesn't have concrete post-graduation plans, she is looking toward pursuing a Master's in Public Health and finding writing opportunities. She wants to be able to help as many people as she can and promote change, and public health is the perfect field for that. Her side goal is to write and publish her first novel, which has been a lifelong childhood dream.
She is apart of the editing team for the Her Campus UMass Boston Chapter, where she is learning to diversify her copyediting skills and engage with writing in a new way. By sharing her own life experiences in her writing, she hopes she is able to engage with others and help them feel seen. Authenticity is apart of her writing philosophy.
Beyond Her Campus, she is the Arts and Lifestyle Editor at The Mass Media and a writing consultant at UMass Boston's Writing Center. She is passionate about writing in its many different forms, especially poetry, and has also published poetry in various literary magazines. Aside from writing, she enjoys reading, musical theatre, playing Stardew Valley, watching Studio Ghibli films, and listening to music. Her favorite artists are Taylor Swift and Conan Gray, though she is open to exploring musical genres.
