My name is Moira (Moy-ruh) McNicholas, and I am a Freshman at the University of Pittsburgh. In high school, I really enjoyed the English classes that I took and loved reading and writing essays while my friends complained about them (and asked me to write theirs for them sometimes). I joined Her Campus at Pitt because of my love for writing and sharing my ideas with others.
I am majoring in Public and Professional Writing, and I plan to pursue a minor in political science. My interest in writing led to me choosing this combination, as I feel that incorporating my interest in politics into my writing could help me to work toward a career that I truly enjoy.
As for my personal interests, I love going on walks on scenic trails, and there are many of these where I live in Montgomery County, which is about five hours away from Pittsburgh. I also enjoy baking with my mom (especially at Christmas), and spending time with my family in general. I also have a somewhat unhealthy obsession with coffee, but I try to limit myself to two per day.
Some of my favorite musical artists include the 1975, Phoebe Bridgers, Kacey Musgraves, and Noah Kahan. I will probably write an article about one of them at some point!!
