My name is Natalie Kaldahl and I am from Arlington, Virginia. I attended Wakefield High School and graduated with a 4.0 unweighted GPA, and took 11 AP classes, earning all 4s and 5s on the exams. Outside of the classroom, I am a competitive swimmer and have been swimming for the past 13 years of my life. On my high school team, I hold 5 team records and was captain during my senior year. During high school, I also joined the rowing team and fell in love with it. My experience rowing has shown me the importance of teamwork and friendship, and has given me many of my best friends. I became a three-time state champion with my high school rowing team, and also became captain my senior year.
During the summers, I would always find some kind of job to keep me busy, in addition to swimming for my summer team. This past summer, I was a swimmer-coach for my summer team, where I helped coach younger teammates and promoted team bonding. I also was a swim lesson instructor for very young swimmers in a nearby neighborhood. In previous summers, I have also served as a babysitter, lifeguard, and rowing camp counselor.
School, sports, and jobs have filled my time throughout high school. In college, I am hoping to join new clubs and activities that excite me and will help me find a new and exciting group of people. Her Campus at UVA seems like an amazing organization that I can’t wait to be a part of.
